Infinito and Ontology Announce Formal Partnership, Infinito Wallet to Support ONT MainNet

The universal Infinito Wallet, which supports leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, EOS, Litecoin, GAS, Dash, ETC, and Dogecoin along with tokens of ETH ERC20, NEO NEP-5, and EOS standards, will fully support Mainnet ONT and ONG token by early Nov 2018 as part of its roadmap. Ontology is a new high-performance public blockchain project and distributed trust collaboration platform that provides modules and protocols to support this trust platform’s underlying infrastructure.

Infinito and ONT are exploring opportunities for further technical collaboration. Potentially, Ontology can become one of Infinito’s many Service Partners including industry leaders such as Blockpass and Coinfirm.

MainNet ONT and Infinito Wallet’s Dedication to Exceptional User Experience Ontology uses a dual token (ONT and ONG) model. At first, ONT is a NEP-5 token and does not release ONG. After the launch of Ontology's MainNet, users will be able to exchange NEP-5 ONT for ONT on the MainNet Ontology, which will start to release ONG periodically. Ontology requires all users to complete the MainNet ONT token swap before October 1st, 2018.

As NEP-5 ONT token and ONT token will visually share the same logo, Infinito team has opted to remove NEP-5 ONT from our token list to prevent any confusion for end users. Specifically aiming to help new users to ONT, this change will disable new users from adding NEP-5 ONT tokens to their wallet. This, however, will not affect current users who have already added NEP-5 ONT token to their wallet as Infinito Wallet has no intentions of removing existing added assets from users’ wallets without their consent.

Infinito Wallet will additionally display a warning message in NEP-5 ONT token’s “Receive Tab” to inform users that this chosen token address is not the one on MainNet ONT. Therefore, users need to review carefully before making any actions with this address if their goal is to move their ONT MainNet assets.

It is Infinito team’s highest priority to allow users to interact with crypto assets intuitively and securely through our universal wallet. We have taken additional measures to ensure a seamless and safe user experience, thereby further reinforcing this foundational value. All of these measures in preparation for MainNet ONT shall be applied with Infinito Wallet’s upcoming 1.14.0 version update on 28 August 2018.
