The largest Chinese online retailer unveils its blockchain platform
JD.com, the largest online retailer in China, has unveiled own ready to use blockchain platform called JD Blockchain Open Platform. The platform is the part of JD’s Retail as a Service (RaaS) plan. Various applications on the platform can be developed either by the company or by external software developers.
JD will now use the blockchain technologies for own good
The platform has intuitive design and can be used with “one-click deployment”, explained in the JD’s press-release. It is further told that the first app deployed on the platform aims to collect and distribute the corporate e-invoices. The app is developed for the Chinese Pacific Insurance Company. The blockchain technology allows to improve the security of invoices, increases efficiency and simplifies the accounting routine.
Back in April, the JD.com first announced its plans to build the blockchain as a service product. The platform is targeting enterprises as clients. The technology, in general, will enable customers to deploy custom smart contracts and optimize various business processes such as tracking the movement of goods, charity donations, transactions, copyrights, certifications and others.
